AP Art - YAM Art Show Assessment Deadlines

Youth Art Month AP Studio Assessment
Ms. Guiles

The FHS Art Department is Celebrating Youth Art Month (March), by having an art show in the lobby on Thursday, March 13th between 4PM and 5:30PM.

This show will serve as an opportunity for AP Studio Art Students to display their hard work and talent to the school community. It will also demonstrate your role as artistic leaders for underclassmen who are interested in the arts to look up to. Participation in the show will be mandatory, and will count as an assessment grade (test grade) for AP Studio Students. Here are the requirements:

1.     You must be present at the art show by 3:00PM to help set up. If you cannot attend, you must provide a parent/guardian letter/email to Ms. Guiles.
2.      You must prepare 3 of your best pieces to show (by Tues. March 11, 2nd Period). They should be mounted or matted by the date of the show. You should fill out and attach a name label to each piece. They should be ready to hang. The expectations to this are paintings that are on stretched canvas or canvas boards. If you need to print graphics or photos, plan ahead!
3.     You must make a creative name sign  (by Tues. March 11, 2nd Period) for your portion of the show. Include your first and last name. This can be typed or hand-made.  Either way, be professional.

4.     You revise and type your 3 paragraph Artist Statement.  Follow the guide for writing an artist statement on your Benchmark assignments. These are due via email to Ms. Guiles by Friday, March 7th.
