Drawing: Breadth #9 - Charcoal Still Life: Due Mon. 9/23

1.Start outlines with vine charcoal (lightly!). Draw w/your elbow!

2.Good composition/rule of 3rds

3.Build up values in shapes/sections. Use vine charcoal first.

4.Add dark values with compressed charcoal and details with charcoal pencil. Get rid of outlines as you work. Erase highlights/edit/clean.

2D Design: Breadth #9 - Zoomed in Found Pattern: Due Mon. 9/23

Zoom in on a VERY detailed natural object. Compose it, and draw it from observation. Choose something that demonstrate REPETITION and PATTERN.

Draw on a piece of paper at least 12” x 18”.

Pencil, colored pencil, ink, pen, and/or watercolor

Capture the details.

-Take a roll of 24 images of water close up.

-Try to be so close that the water becomes abstracted in shape and color.

-Include a good level of detail and consider composition.
